Dar es Salaam, April 23, 2026 — In a significant move to strengthen Tanzania’s technical
workforce and industrial growth, the Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA),
in collaboration with Emirates Aluminium and Glass Co. Ltd, has officially launched a new
curriculum in Aluminium and Glass Fitting with Metal Fabrication.

The launch event, held in Dar es Salaam, marks a strategic effort by the government to bridge the skills gap between graduates of vocational institutions and the actual demands of the job market—particularly in fast-growing sectors such as construction, manufacturing, and modern infrastructure development. Speaking during the launch, the Deputy Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Wanu Hafidh Ameir, emphasized the need for training institutions to continuously update curricula in line with evolving technologies and labor market needs. “It is essential to ensure that graduates possess practical, industry-relevant skills that directly respond to market demands, in order to increase employment opportunities and productivity in the country,” she stated
